Past Inspiration

 

While it's no secret that I've been quiet, contemplative, a little down and searching. I've shied away from sources of inspiration, not wanting to be distracted or overwhelmed. It hasn't really helped. The picture above reminds me of my youth, in our house on the eastside of town, how the sun would glow through my window at dusk. It came to me when this song played on pandora; 

 

and the childhood memories came flooding back and it felt good. I began to look for more things that would bring me back to that place. That place where I was so ready to take on the world, leave my mark and enjoy life. I have a lot of time to spend on my computer, while job hunting and resume perfecting..and so the search has begun for all these little tidbits that are helping me feel like me again. This one almost knocked me out of my chair;

 

This one I found while trolling for Pinterest. 

A website that lets you 'pin' things to it's virtual boards..I'm loving ALL THE COOL STUFF! 

 

and of course, if I'm talking about inspiration..I have to give shouts out to my friends and family. The ones who have put up with my wierdness, my me-ness. and a Special shout out and a huge Huzzah to Melissa Abercrombie! She was recently interviewed and featured on the Craft blog;

I have had the great honor of getting to know Melissa, having done a few dozen shows with her over the past few years. This right here is a genuine person. She is awesome and so is her work!!

Stencil 1 does IT Again!!

From the fabulous mind of Ed Roth, once again I am floored by the new designs from Stencil 1!! Barn owls, chandeliers, octupi, russian nesting dolls!!! The visions I have of new curtains for my office, some new t shirts, a few new sack towels for the kitchen. Oh thank you Ed!! Time to get my hands inky again!!

 Oh, and did I mention all of the new two pass stencils? Like the ol' favorite deer with Antlers!! How hot is this going to look? hands are starting to itch with anticipation..:)

A Thankful '10

In one picture, I would just like to say a big thank you to all of my friends, new and old, my family and to every good hearted soul out there. This world needs all the beautiful hearted people it can hold. I look forward to a warm and fulfilled 2011...e

There's no Globe like a Snowglobe

A few last minute nifty gifties for the family..hopefully they won't be reading this post! A few glass vials, some plastic miniatures, water, glycerin, glitter and eggshells. Voila..handmade snowglobes, cause it can be fun to shake!

You may have noticed my blogging this year was on a downward spiral. I've noticed that I have less impetus to share, now that my sister is living back here in California. I think I used this blog as a pictorial enticement to bring her back from Chicago. Now that she's here..I don't know. I guess I'm feeling a little like I don't know what I'm blogging for. Not to mention that I've also been trying to get in touch with my artistic side..because I feel like crafting is one thing..art is another. Not that the two don't meet..they absolutely do. But I've been wanting to paint more. sculpt. produce. produce. I thank anybody who has stuck around and read through my identity crisis..I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store...
